Meet in the commuter parking lot at the corner of Iron Horse Blvd and Wilcox Street in Simsbury

“Farmington Canal Bus Tour”

Award-winning canal historians Ruth Hummel and Carl Walter guide this daylong trip, beginning with “Lock 12” in Cheshire and ending at the Massachusetts border. Along the tour route, they will share information about the social, economic and engineering history of this attempt to create an inland waterway connecting New Haven to Northhampton, Massachusetts and beyond. Tour is Co-Sponsored by Simsbury Free Library

This tour sells out quickly. Reserve by contacting the Simsbury Historical Society or Simsbury Free Library. A box lunch is included in the price of the ticket.

Evening at Phelps Tavern “Toast to Simsbury”

Bring your friends and enjoy an evening at the Phelps Tavern to celebrate the naming of Simsbury on May 12 1670. Enjoy music by members of the Dulcimer Folk Association of Connecticut while relaxing with a glass of wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Try your hand at some old Tavern games.

Reservation requested. Valid ID is required for alcoholic beverages.

$40.00 per person in advance or $45 at the door.
