Our archives include an impressive collection of primary source materials that relate to early settlements in Connecticut, the founding of Simsbury, and the development of the surrounding region.  Documents and artifacts include account books, personal papers, court records, tax lists, maps, and more than 600 photographs of mid-nineteenth through early twentieth century residents, architecture, farms and businesses.
Secondary sources are particularly strong in Connecticut, family and regional history, but also include published works on historic interiors, political processes, and social and military history.

Currently, the archives are open by appointment only.  Contact us at archives@simsburyhistory.org or 860-658-2500 to learn more or arrange a visit. Documents and images from the archive, and a shelf list of bound volumes, will become available on-line as we implement a new archive and research library database and complete the cataloguing for each document, image, and bound volume.
