Preserving the Past ~ Enriching our Future
Established in 1911, the Simsbury Historical Society continues its stewardship of Simsbury’s past, present, and future. It acquired its current site and permanent home in Simsbury center in 1962 with the donation of the tavern, barn, and land by the Phelps family. The Phelps Tavern, built in 1771, is named to the National Register of Historic Places. Our site now includes more than one dozen historic and modern buildings and structures.
The Simsbury Historical Society is a non-profit organization that depends upon your support. Please consider making a donation to support our efforts in preserving Simsbury's rich history. If you're interested in becoming a member of the Simsbury Historical Society, please visit our Membership page.
